"Is It Raining in California" was produced in late December of 2023 for Lana Nauphal's debut album Wildlands. The video was shot by a two-person crew from Trustfall Studios, with Samuel Mitchell acting as the project's Director of Photography and Muhil Vaseekaran serving as the film's gaffer. Mitchell would later edit and color the music video as well. The visual concept plays with the lingering presence of a past partner invading one's space. The music video uses simple, special effects and a shift between 35mm and 16mm film emulations to highlight when Lana's character is transported out of her present space and into memories of her partner — enhancing the emotional beats already present in the song. Trustfall Studios serviced all equipment for the shoot.
